What is the Reelmaster Reel and Roll Handling Manipulator?
Reelmaster is a special manipulator solution developed for the ergonomic, safe and controlled handling, rotation and machine positioning of reels, rolls, bobbins and cylindrical loads.
Reel and roll type loads require special engineering evaluation not only because of their weight, but also because of their cylindrical shape, center of gravity, winding direction, inner diameter, outer diameter, surface sensitivity, line length and machine feeding position.
Reelmaster allows these loads to be lifted, guided, rotated, repositioned from horizontal to vertical or vertical to horizontal, and placed into the production line at the correct angle in a safer and more controlled way.
The system can be used in applications such as reel handling, roll handling, bobbin handling, film roll handling, textile roll handling, cable reel handling, paper roll handling, foil roll handling and packaging roll handling.
Which Problems Does Reelmaster Solve?
Manual handling of reels, rolls and bobbins, or moving them with unsuitable equipment, may cause operator fatigue, workplace safety risks, uncontrolled rolling, surface damage, incorrect positioning, incorrect machine feeding, dependency on two operators, cycle time losses and reduced production efficiency.
Especially in heavy reel applications, balanced load control, correct gripping point selection, safe entry into the inner diameter and accurate alignment of the roll axis with the machine feeding direction are critical.
Reelmaster reduces these problems with a special reel and roll gripping system, pneumatic manipulator support, servo-controlled movement options and vision camera assisted alignment.
Instead of carrying the load directly by hand, the operator guides the load with manipulator assistance. This allows the reel or roll to be handled more safely, ergonomically and precisely.

Recommended Applications
Reel handling and positioning
Suitable for safe handling of reels between the production line, storage area, machine feeding point or workstations.
Roll and bobbin handling
Supports ergonomic handling of film, fabric, paper, cable, foil, label, packaging and technical textile rolls.
Heavy reel handling applications
Depending on project requirements, Reelmaster can be engineered for handling, guiding and machine positioning of heavy reels up to 1 ton.
Long line reel handling
Reelmaster can be evaluated for operation on lines up to 100 meters depending on project requirements.
Servo-controlled precise positioning
In heavy or large diameter reel applications, servo-controlled movement can provide more precise travel, controlled stopping and more accurate alignment with the machine entry point.
Vision camera assisted reel alignment
A vision camera assisted alignment system can be evaluated to allow easier and more accurate entry into the reel center.
This feature helps the operator see the reel inner diameter more clearly and guide the gripping tool more precisely into the reel center, especially in large diameter, heavy or limited-visibility applications.
Horizontal-to-vertical repositioning
Can be used when reels or rolls must be rotated from horizontal to vertical position or from vertical to horizontal position in a controlled way.
Machine feeding applications
Allows reels, rolls or bobbins to be positioned into production machines on the correct axis and at the correct position.
Technical Features and Configuration
Reelmaster is configured project specifically for safe gripping, handling, rotation and correct positioning of reels, rolls, bobbins and cylindrical loads into the production line.
System design is based not only on load weight, but also on reel diameter, roll width, inner diameter, outer diameter, winding direction, center of gravity, surface sensitivity, gripping method, rotation angle, machine feeding direction, line length and operator working area.
In addition to standard reel and roll handling applications, Reelmaster can be specially designed for long lines and heavy reel handling projects.
Servo-controlled movement can be used in heavy reel applications. The servo-controlled structure allows more precise reel travel, controlled stopping, more accurate alignment with the machine entry point and safer operator guidance of the reel.
A vision camera assisted alignment system can be evaluated to enter the reel center more easily and accurately.
Technical features that can be evaluated for Reelmaster applications include:
• special handling solution for reels, rolls, bobbins and cylindrical loads
• project-specific heavy reel applications up to 1 ton
• operation on long production lines up to 100 meters
• servo-controlled forward and backward movement and precise positioning
• vision camera assisted reel center alignment
• easier and more controlled entry into the reel inner diameter
• internal gripping or external gripping option
• mechanical, pneumatic, servo-controlled or process-specific gripper design
• horizontal-to-vertical and vertical-to-horizontal repositioning
